Animal Services
Our Animal Shelter
We strive to maintain a low-kill shelter. The employees and volunteers are dedicated to the welfare of animals and proud to be “The Little Shelter with a Big Heart.” It is our goal to continually review and evaluate animal protection and control issues, needs, services and facilities for the Town of Hickory Creek.

On Call 24 Hours
Animal Services Officers will only respond after normal working hours to emergency calls. Examples of emergency calls include livestock and injured animals in the roadway, vicious animals, and animal bites.
A reminder to all Town of Hickory Creek residents that your cats and dogs must be registered with animal services. This is a town ordinance and there is no fee at this time.
Registering your animal makes contacting the owner easier if it is lost or injured without the owner’s knowledge. Animals can be registered at the town hall during normal working hours. Please bring a current (within the last year) rabies certificate from you pet’s veterinarian.
Adopting a Friend
At times, there is no one on duty at the shelter, and some of our pets are in foster homes. An appointment saves a wasted trip! Please call Officer Epperson to make an appointment to see any of our animals. They will do their best to meet you at a convenient time.
