Kenneth Lowrie, Animal Control Officer
email: kenneth.lowrie@hickorycreek-tx.gov
Animal Service Officers are on call 24 hours a day and will respond after normal working hours to emergency calls. Examples of emergency calls include livestock and injured animals in the roadway, vicious animals, and animal bites.
A reminder to all Town of Hickory Creek residents that your cats and dogs must be registered with Animal Services. This is a Town Ordinance and there is no fee at this time.
Registering your animal makes contacting the owner easier if it is lost or injured without the owner's knowledge. Animals can be registered at the new Town Hall during normal working hours (8-5). Please bring proof from your veterinary office of the animal's current rabies vaccination (Rabies Certificate).
For more information, contact Animal Services at (940) 465-7444.
All pets must be registered with the Town annually. The cost to register you dog or cat is FREE!

Thank you Volunteers!
The Town of Hickory Creek and the Animal Control Department would like to thank all of the volunteers, shelter helpers, donators, rescue groups, and adopters who helped to make 2007 such a big success for our tiny animal shelter. You have helped to improve our shelter conditions and the lives of animals given into our care before they are adopted or rescued by other groups. Without your continued help and support, we would be unable to continue our work at the level that we have achieved throughout this year. With the goal of a new shelter in the near future, we must continue our efforts to provide the best care and the best homes that we can for the animals whose care we are entrusted with in 2008.

HICKORY CREEK RESIDENT RAISES MONEY FOR ANIMAL SHELTER
On March 10, 2007, Delancey Meskill opened her lemonade stand during the Lakeview neighborhood garage sale. She worked hard selling cooling lemonade to all of the garage sale patrons. Her younger brother Braden helped, as little brothers will.
But this wasn’t just any lemonade stand; Delancey determined that any money she made would be donated to the Town of Hickory Creek animal shelter. To encourage her, her parents, Mom and Dad Meskill, promised that they would match her profits, also to be donated to the Hickory Creek Animal Shelter.
On March 16, 2007, Delancey came to the Town Hall with her donation of $60.00 and presented it to the Animal Control Officer, Kenneth Lowrie, the Chief of Police, Roger Mangum, and the Town Secretary, Kelly D’Amato. The note that accompanied her donation read “I hope this money from my lemonade stand helps a little. I love all the animal and thank you for all you do to help them”.
All this from a seven year old girl, who has a big heart and a love of animals. We send a big thank you to Delancey Meskill for her hard work and generosity.

The recent pet adoption was a huge success! Animal Control Officer Ken Lowrie would like to share the following message:
"On behalf of the Town of Hickory Creek, our pets and myself, I would like to thank the following people for their help during our successful Adopt-A-Pet on July 1, 2006.
Cheryl Roemmele, Richard and Debbie Baker, Greg and Sandy Deaderick, Lisa and Cheyenne Dupree, Nick and Leah Bickel, Natalie Bleess, Nita Van Cleave and everyone else who contributed their time and energy for such a good cause. I also would like to thank all those who made monetary donations. We could not have done it without all of the help leading up to and during the Adopt-A-Pet.
Finally, thanks to all the families who adopted a pet. Five dogs and one cat are now living comfortably in new homes. If you would like to add a four-footed friend to your family stop by the animal shelter and see who's waiting for a good home."
